I’m the kind of person that tries to be fashionably late, yet I’m still the first to arrive at the party.

As a kid, I assumed I had an addictive personality. I was overwhelmed by my tendency to master all that interested me. I strived to build my vocabulary; so naturally, I studied the dictionary in my free time.  I loved to play tennis, so I practiced every day.

Ok- so the tennis thing is a lie. I never voluntarily engaged in competitive sports, and I still don’t.

However, organizing my closet was never a chore; it was a weekly pastime. And it still is.

Now that I’m older and wiser- and would like to think that I’ve mastered the art of “positioning”- I like to refer to my tendency to obsess over the details of what I love as “enthused loyalty.” When I enjoy something, it receives my utmost support.

What am I loyal to? A number of things including: Reading (anything from trashy tabloids to the news to novels). Writing (anything from emails, to articles, to fiction). Snacking (preferably in portioned control baggies so I don’t eat the whole box). Friends & Family. My boyfriend and his labradoodle Hank. My blowdrier.

I maintain a lifestyle where everything is organized, filed, structured, catalogued, color-coded, and Clorox-wiped daily.  If there’s a way to add a pink monogram, I’ll take it!  My attention to detail doesn’t consume me; it just keeps me busy.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies and morning talk shows. I’m crazy for photos, framing, and scrapbooking. I enjoy walking outdoors- for fitness and to explore.  In case you’re wondering, I’m always up for a beach vacation.  I love greeting cards, gifting, and decorating and accessorizing absolutely everything from an envelope to my apartment.  I’m often seen roaming the aisles of drugstores and grocery stores. I have a zest for sushi, wine, a great bargain, and Scrabble.

I live in Chicago. I graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in English and Creative Writing.

Luckily, I get paid to obsess over details. In the day, I apply my creative writing and branding expertise to my fulltime job as the marketing manager for Steve Kaplan, New York Times bestselling author and keynote speaker. Passionate about food and wellness, I also handle the PR for Flatout Bread and work as a contributing writer for Weight Watchers.

And then, at night, I think about all the details here. Enjoy!
